At the confident age of nine, Linda Greenlaw was already making off with her father's fishing boat and taking her younger brother and sister on adventures at seaformal dresses. Today, after 20 years as a commercial fisherman, Greenlaw's been called one of the best sea captains on the East Coast. But she's also made her mark in the publishing world, recalling her adventures at sea and her life at home, in a small town in coastal Maine. Valarie Morris tells her tale.
Off the coast of down East Maineevening dresses, hidden in the mist, is Idaho, the home of about sixty-year rounders, mainly lobster fishermen. It's also the home of Linda Greenlaw, former Sword-boat captain, author and lobsterman.

For years, as captain of a one hundred foot sword-boat, Greenlaw braved dangerous weather, and was away from home for months at a time. Greenlaw's best-selling first bookcar electronics, Hungry Ocean, tells of her adventures 1500 miles off shore.

And as proud as I am to be recognized, now, as the best-selling author, nothing makes me prouder than saying I'm a fisherman.
